The Spider Demon (Daughter) (蜘く蛛も鬼おに「姉あね」 Kumo oni: Donkey?) was a member of the spider family.
Appearance
The Spider Demon Girl’s physical traits are very similar to her “younger brother”, Rui. She has the appearance of a demonic girl in her early teens, with a completely pale, milky-white complexion, snow-white hair, and pure white eyes that only her silver pupils separate from its sclera. She also has several red dot-like patterns on her face, similar to those of her “family”.
The Girl’s original appearance as a demon was completely different from what she has today. She transformed and changed her features after being forced by Rui to be accepted into her family. His original appearance was that of a teenage demon with dark hair, slit cat-like eyes, and grayish, pale skin.
Personality
The Spider Demon’s Daughter is the most cautious of her “family”. She preferred to observe and step back rather than go into battle against the Demon Slayers. She is also very cowardly, whether in the fight against the Demon Slayer Corps or in dealing with her family’s internal conflict. When her ‘mother’ was violently abused and scolded by her ‘younger brother’ and ‘father’, she stood back and gave her ‘mother’ the same stern look due to her weakness instead of strength. to help. She again shows her cowardice by trying to convince Rui to run away instead of fight after most of their family is defeated, which angers him and leads to him hurting her.
In truth, the Spider Demon Daughter hates her “family” and has come to think that she probably would have done better on her own. She thinks her other family members are idiots for playing Rui’s game, though he has no real emotional attachment or care for any of them. She nevertheless did whatever it took to survive and stayed with them, knowing that she had no chance of surviving if she tried to escape. She even went so far as to try to gain sympathy and pity from Shinobu Kocho, knowing that she was a demon slayer, by pleading that she was put in this situation by Rui. However, this contradicts her actions, as she did everything she could to stay with him and his family, revealing that she only does what is practical for her own survival. She later proves to be gullible enough to fall for Shinobu’s fake sympathy and begins to openly admit the total number of her human victims.
Story
Originally, the Spider Demon Girl was a lonely demon maiden who decided to team up with Rui’s group on Natagumo Mountain in order to survive out of fear of Demon Slayers. Rui forced his new “family” to drop their old looks and faces in order to match his own. The Spider Demon’s Daughter was forced to be his “Big Sister” and protect him at the cost of her own life, as he believed that the elder must always protect the younger. She and her family then began preying on the mountain’s native humans, which caught the attention of the Demon Slayer Corps, who sent large numbers of their demon slayers to attempt to rid the mountain of demons.
Old Sister Spider Demon herself managed to kill at least 80 humans during her time on the mountain. She managed to store them in her yarn bags using her Blood Demon Art for later meals, which were soon found by Shinobu when she entered the mountain with Giyu Tomioka to help the killers.
Synopsis

In her first appearance, the Spider Demon Girl is spotted by Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Hashibira shortly after the Spider Demon (Mother) dies. She cries out for the Spider Demon (Father)’s help and flees, leaving him to fight the two Demon Slayers alone. Some time later, she is confronted by Rui; he uses his own threads to wound her in the face and she collapses in pain, blood and tears. Tanjiro, who was thrown by the Spider Demon Father, however, intervenes when this happens.
The Spider Demon’s Daughter witnesses the fight between Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Rui, but does not directly intervene. When Rui says he wants to take Nezuko as a sister, the Girl begs him not to give her up and he beheads her instead, saying she is not fulfilling her role as a big sister. He then gives her one last chance to kill all the other mountain dwellers, promising to forgive him for “a certain incident”, and she picks up her own head and leaves.
As the fully healed Spider Demon Girl flees in a panic, she recalls how she and the rest of the Spider Demon Family joined Rui out of a desire to be protected, only to be abused, punished, and even executed by Rui s they failed. She tells herself that she’s not as stupid as the other Demons, and also remembers the exact reasons why Rui hurt her some time ago: for telling her that they had to run away from the Demon Slayers. , and especially for accidentally taking back his old appearance.
The Girl finds Murata the Demon Slayer and traps him in a cocoon of acid with her Blood Demon Art, telling him how the acid inside the yarn bags will first dissolve his clothes and then melt the rest of his body…
Shinobu suddenly appears behind the Demon Spider Girl, asking if the threads were coming out of her palms, wishing the creature a good evening, and commenting on the beauty of the moon that night. Startled, the Demon attacks the Demon Slayer with his strings, but Shinobu effortlessly dodges them all. Drawing his sword, Shinobu curtly comments that this attack means the Demon doesn’t want to get along with her.
The Spider Maiden Demon quickly begs Shinobu for mercy, stating that she would be killed if she disobeyed Rui. Shinobu, sympathizing with the Demon’s plight, says she will cooperate with her if she answers a few questions from Shinobu, the first being how many people she has killed. The Demon’s answer is five, but Shinobu assures her that she doesn’t need to lie, complimenting her rope technique from earlier, and corrects the Demon’s answer to eighty humans.
Despite the Demon’s stubborn refusal, the female swordswoman notes that they both came from the western side of the mountain, and that on that side she found forty Demon cocoons. Shinobu adds that she’s not angry, she’s just trying to be as specific as possible. When asked what is the point of verifying this information, Shinobu tells the elder sister Demon that in order for them to be friends and to satisfy those who died, she will have to undergo a punishment, explaining in gruesome detail what is going on. she had in mind for this, and adding that the elder sister Spider Demon will not die from it, so there will be no after-effects.
Enraged, the Demon attacks Shinobu again, but the Demon Hunter quickly bypasses her, simultaneously landing her Insect Breathing, Butterfly Dance: Caprice on the Demon. She laments the Demon’s poor choice, turns around and then watches the creature crumble. Shinobu tells the creature not to let its guard down just because it can’t cut off the Demon’s head, because, she explains, it uses poison as a weapon. Shinobu then introduces herself as the Demon Slayer Corps’ Insect Hashira, stating that although she is the only one of her order who does not possess the ability to cut off a Demon’s head, the poison that can kill the Demons is still a powerful tool. She then apologizes, realizing that the older sister Demon is already dead and couldn’t hear her explanation.
While all of this is going on, the Demon Spider Girl initially thinks that the Butterfly Dance from Shinobu: Whim didn’t decapitate her. However, she soon starts bleeding from several places on her forehead, chest, mouth, and arms. By the time Shinobu fully shows up, the Girl is effectively lying dead on the ground, her body twisted in agony and with multiple injuries.

Shapeshifting – The Spider Demon Daughter seems to have enough skill and talent to shapeshift to alter her physical appearance to match Rui’s, in order to fulfill her desire to start a family. However, if she is frightened or startled, her physical appearance reverts to her original form, showing that she must make conscious efforts to maintain her new physical characteristics.

Spider Physiology : Like all other members of her “family”, the Spider Demon Girl possesses spidery traits and abilities.
- Silk Manipulation : Like her “mother” and Rui, the Spider Demon Girl can manipulate threads made from her own cells, this time in a manner similar to silk which forms a cocoon instead of threads that look like threads. Although extremely soft, its tang is stronger and more durable than metal, even a normal demon slayer cannot cut or pierce it with a Nichirin blade.

Triviality
- In the anime, additions not intended in the manga were made to the story of the Spider Demon’s daughter. In the manga, there were more than five members of the Spider Family, although it is implied that they were killed before the arc. These additions are:
- Showing how she joined the family and how the family members were treated by Rui and each other.
- Show more of the spider demon family outside of the main five.
- His interactions with another “spider demon big sister”, who, after befriending each other, proposes that they run away together when Rui is not around. The spider demon girl ends up betraying her to Rui in order to gain her favor and the other older sister is beaten and hanged to be killed by sunlight.
