Prologue Muichiro vs Kokushibo

Upper Rank 4 Nakime’s Blood Demon Art separates Muichiro Tokito from Gyomei Himejima by manipulating a large column from the Infinity Castle and twisting an opening for Muichiro to be teleported to where another Upper Rank resides. As Muichiro rises, he is confronted by a terrifying six-eyed figure wearing a purple and black hexagon-patterned kimono and wielding a long sword.

The figure examines Muichiro and notices that he recognizes the Hashira. Muichiro notices the kanji for High Rank (Jgen?上じょう弦げん Jōgen?) and One (壱いち Ichi?) and realizes he is looking at the infamous High Rank One, Kokushibo in person. Muichiro’s muscles, ribs, and blood flow are similar to Tanjiro’s and Giyu’s, so Kokushibo concludes that Muichiro is of similar blood. Top Moon One, on the other hand, Muichiro believes, is far more terrifying, dignified, and majestic than any other member of the Twelve Kizuki, and wields a sword similar to the Nichirin Blades, believing that Top Rank One was once a demon slayer. Muichiro’s body begins to tremble as he grasps the hilt of his sheathed sword from the terrifying aura of High Rank.

The Hashira stutters out his name when the High Rank asks for it. Kokushibo discovers that the name “Tsugikuni” is no longer in use. This perplexes Muichiro, who has never heard of Tsugikuni and inquires of the High Rank as to what Tsugikuni is. Because of the hundreds of years that had passed, Kokushibo knew his surname would eventually fade away, so he declares it to be “Michikatsu Tsugikuni.” He also declares that he is a direct descendant of one of his children, making him his true descendant. Muichiro is terrified to learn that he is related to a Higher Rank by blood, and he wonders if Kokushibo uses Sun Breathing, the first Breathing Style. Muichiro, on the other hand, uses his breathing to calm himself down, earning Kokushibo’s admiration. Muichiro rushes to High Rank and the battle begins.

Battle Muichiro vs Kokushibo

Muichiro uses his Misty Breath, Second Form: Eight-Layer Mist to try to decapitate Kokushibo. The High Rank, on the other hand, gracefully avoids it and admires Muichiro’s swordsmanship skills, unaware that his descendant wields the Breath of Mist. Muichiro is uninterested in continuing his conversation with his so-called “ancestor” and instead unleashes his Breath of Mist, Fifth Form: Sea of Clouds and Haze on the High Rank, who easily dodges the attack once more. Muichiro’s name is called by Kokushibo, and despite his incredibly young age of 14, his swordsman skills are refined and beautiful.

Blood connection

Despite being his descendant, Muichiro claims that not a single drop of blood from them has been linked in hundreds of years. As he hands Kokushibo his joint, his Demon Slayer Mark reappears, surprising the High Rank. Muichiro finally uses his original Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds mist breath on the High Rank, which he has never seen before in the hundreds of years he has fought Misty Breath users. Unfortunately, the High Rank successfully avoids the attack once more. On the Hashira mist, Kokushibo decides to sheath his sword because it violates his samurai code of honor, and instead uses his Moon Breath, First Form: Dark Moon, Evening Palace.

Muichiro notices that his left hand has been severed in the attack and realizes that High Rank One is using Moon’s Breath, a Breathing Style he has never seen before. He also notices Kokushibo’s speed is out of this world, and he can’t even react to his attack. Muichiro, on the other hand, keeps fighting and bites off a strand of his hair to stop the bleeding, which Kokushibo applauds. He tries to decapitate Kokushibo with the Breath of the Mist, Fourth Form: Shifting Flow Slash, but the High Rank grabs the Hashira’s blade with his fingers and redirects the attack to stab Muichiro with his own sword through a column. As Muichiro sobs in agony, Kokushibo asks him to become a Demon in order to join the Twelve Kizuki.

After centuries of living, the High Rank is moved to see a descendant of his own cells. He assures Muichiro that once he transforms into a demon, he will have nothing to fear. Muzan Kibutsuji is sure to find some use in a Demon Slayer becoming a Demon, especially since Kokushibo is the last High Rank who can fight properly right now. He wants Muichiro to accept his death as his fate if he doesn’t. proving that you can’t go any further no matter how hard you try. Genya is shown with a Nichirin blade and his traditional Western double-barreled rifle behind a curtain. Kokushibo appears behind Genya just as he is about to pull the trigger and asks if he is okay with it. Muichiro shouts his name at the top of his lungs as Genya’s gun-wielding arm falls from his body. Genya quickly removes his Nichirin Blade from his back, but his remaining arm is severed by Kokushibo. When Kokushibo examines Genya’s cellular structure, he realizes that he is a demon slayer who does not breathe but instead consumes demons as a source of strength, allowing him to regenerate like a demon. With Muichiro knowing that Genya will be killed by his ancestor and not even wishing for him to fully transform into a demon, Kokushibo cuts Genya’s torso in half without hesitation. Brothers in arms

Kokushibo is surprised to learn that Genya survived his wounds, as he had come to kill him. He claims to have met a demon slayer three centuries ago who ate demons like Genya before slashing his chest and killing him. Kokushibo attempts to decapitate Genya because he knows that all demon-eating Demon Slayers must have a weak spot. Sanemi, Genya’s younger brother, saves him by reflecting Top Rank’s attack with the wind, fourth form: Rising Dust Storm. Kokushibo takes a step back and notices that Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Hashira of Wind, has entered his presence. Sanemi agrees with the High Rank that he is the Wind Hashira and that he will rip his head off with the wind. Hashira, the Wind, questions his younger brother about why he killed their mother to protect him. As Sanemi explains this, Genya recalls Tanjiro telling him that, despite Sanemi’s resentment of him for joining the Demon Slayer Corps, he never smelled hatred from him. As a result, Genya should not be afraid to speak up in front of his brother. Sanemi tells Genya that he should never have joined the Demon Slayer Corps and that he should have sworn to protect his wife and children instead. Sanemi expresses her true feelings for him, which brings Genya to tears. The tranquility between the two Demon Slayer brothers makes Kokushibo yearn for his own younger brother. Sanemi screams at the High Rank for slicing his younger brother and rushes at Kokushibo as the High Rank tries to behead him, but Sanemi slips under his legs and slices his legs. Sanemi uses Wind Blast, First Form: Dust Whirlwind Cutter as Kokushibo leaps into the air. To defend himself, Kokushibo draws his sword. Sanemi is repulsed by Kokushibo’s blade, which is covered in flesh and eyes.

Breath of the Moon

Kokushibo uses Breath of the Moon, Fifth Form: Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy on Sanemi as their swords clash, forcing him back to avoid the attack. Sanemi, on the other hand, is perplexed as to how many hits appear because the Top Rank does not swing his blade. Sanemi counters Kokushibo’s attack with Wind Blast, Third Form: Clear Storm Wind Tree, praising Sanemi and their attacks for being at their best. Sanemi thinks to himself that Kokushibo’s prowess and skills are giving him goosebumps. He concludes that Kokushibo’s blows are surrounded by chaotic mini-blows that constantly change in size and length, resulting in no fixed pattern and making them even more lethal. He understands that due to his erratic and distorted behavior, he will be unable to completely parry the Top Rank’s attack, and that if he did not have the experience of a Hashira and a Demon Slayer, defending himself would be impossible. Most importantly, he employs Breathing Styles, which allows him to increase his speed and strength while still speaking. So Sanemi is having a great time, and Kokushibo is a demon who deserves to be killed proudly. Sanemi uses Wind Blast, Second Form: Purifying Wind Claws to attack Kokushibo, which High Rank reflects with a Chaotic Blades basic attack. Sanemi falls from the air while reflecting the Breath attack, attempting to cut Kokushibo but failing because he blocks it with his Flesh Sword. Sanemi tries to stab Kokushibo through the chin with Genya’s Nichirin Blade, much to Kokushibo’s surprise. Sanemi’s foot is cut as the High Rank gracefully dodges the blade. As Sanemi and Kokushibo continue to fight, Sanemi notices that he can’t blink and that he almost died because he misplaced the tip of his blade. Kokushibo responds by comparing Sanemi’s praise to the Hashira of the Wind during the Sengoku period, proving that he either trained against or killed the old Hashira. Sanemi is then knocked out and the surrounding landscape is decimated by his Moon Breath, Sixth Form: Perpetual Night, Solitary Moon – Incessant. Cats for Silvervine, Demons for Marechi

Sanemi is shown to be severely injured, with gaping wounds on his torso. Sanemi’s ambition and desire to fight are admirable, but Kokushibo knows his internal organs will disgorge on the floor if he moves again. Kokushibo’s heartbeat accelerates and he begins to stagger. Sanemi chuckles as her blood affects even the Twelve Kizuki’s highest ranks, comparing her blood’s irresistibility to demons such as silver vine cats. He even claims that demons get drunk just by sniffing his blood, claiming that this is the rarest of the rare and only happens once in a lifetime. Sanemi keeps attacking with Wind Blast, Sixth Form: Black Wind Mountain Mist, much to Kokushibo’s surprise, as he continues to fight despite his near-fatal wounds. If Kokushibo fought other Hashira, he claims they would all die if they suffered the same injuries as Sanemi. Sanemi, he concludes, is “barely human.”

Sanemi’s Nichirin Blade is then stepped on by Kokushibo, who slashes down at Hashira. Sanemi uses Genya’s Western Rifle to block Kokushibo’s attack and fires at the High Rank, but his Flesh Sword reflects all of the bullets. On Sanemi, Kokushibo uses his Moon Breath, Third Form: Loathsome Moon – Chains. Sanemi is nowhere to be found when the dust settles, but Gyomei Himejima appears and declares that the Demon Slayer Corps will not stop until all demons have been exterminated from the world. He asks Sanemi to stitch up his stomach wound and to leave the fight until he is finished. Gyomei’s structure is revealed by Kokushibo, who declares him to be the greatest swordsman he has fought in three centuries. Gyomei continues to swing his flail, knocking it to the ground where Kokushibo was standing. Kokushibo tries to use a Moon Breathing attack, but Gyomei’s chained ax comes after, and Gyomei uses Stone Breathing, second form: Upper Smash. The chains wrap around Kokushibo’s neck as he dodges the spiked flail, and he tries but fails to cut them with his sword. As the chains close in on Kokushibo, he bends down and grabs a small lock of hair, claiming that the cannonball is made of pure iron and is a high-quality weapon.

Clash of the Titans

Even during the Sengoku period, when sword techniques and the power of the Demon Slayer Corps were at their peak, Kokushibo claims that iron that absorbs sunlight to such an extent was not discovered. So, in order to avoid taking the full brunt of the damage, he moves closer to Gyomei in order to avoid being hurt. Both Kokushibo and Gyomei collide with Lunar Breath, Second Form: Moon Pearl Flower and Stone Breath, Fourth Form: Volcanic Rock, Rapid Conquest. Following their clash of Breathing Styles, Kokushibo claims that when his sword breaks, it regenerates immediately, rendering all of his attacks useless and pitiful. Gyomei is completely unconcerned.

Meanwhile, Muichiro pulls his Nichirin Blade from his shoulder and breaks free from the column Kokushibo stabbed him on. He is ashamed of his body, which is not as tough as Tengen Uzui’s, and realizes that he only has a few hours before he dies from his injuries if he does not receive special treatment, which does not exist. Knowing this, he decides that if he dies, he will give everything he has and relieve the pressure on the other Hashira fighting the High Rank. He covers his amputated hand with the bandages Kokushibo used to cover his chest when he asked him to become a demon. Genya calls out his name and calls out to retrieve Kokushibo’s lock of hair when Gyomei used Stone Breathing: Second Form just as he picks up his Nichirin Blade and is about to join the fight with Gyomei. He tells Muichiro that he wants to protect his older brother at all costs and fight to the bitter end, and Muichiro agrees wholeheartedly and joins Genya.

The price to pay

Meanwhile, Kokushibo notices that Gyomei has reawakened his Demon Slayer Mark and feels sorry for him, much to the dismay of the Stone Hashira. Looking at Gyomei, especially with the “Transparent World,” he assumes Gyomei is around 27 years old, which perplexes him further. Those who awaken their Demon Slayer Mark will die before they reach the age of 25, according to Kokushibo. Despite the fact that the mark increases a person’s power, he claims that they trade it for their own lifespan. Because he unlocked the Demon Slayer’s Mark, Kokushibo regrets that the Stone Hashira has perfected his breathing techniques and body systems to the highest degree, and they are forever fading away without a trace. He asks Gyomei if he agrees that it is tragic, which he does not. Gyomei clarifies that this information is outdated and that, as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, there is no assurance that he will live to see tomorrow, even if he hasn’t awakened its mark. Gyomei eventually tells Kokushibo not to spread his stupid ideas to others, reminding him that someone with a Demon Slayer Mark lived for more than 25 years. He engages the Top Rank once more, enraged that the demon underestimated his determination. Meanwhile, Sanemi, who has recovered from his chest wounds, activates his Demon Slayer Mark and engages Gyomei in combat. Even if he hasn’t awakened his mark, he accepts that his membership in the Demon Slayer Corps means there’s no guarantee he’ll see tomorrow. Side by side

Sanemi’s Demon Slayer Mark has awakened, and Kokushibo wonders if all of the Hashira’s Marks have also awakened, reviving the Golden Age of the Demon Slayer Corps. Gyomei’s spiked flail appears behind Sanemi’s head, surprising Kokushibo. Sanemi uses the opportunity to aim for High Rank’s calves, which he avoids. Kokushibo also praises the Hashira for their coordinated attacks, despite the fact that they all use different breathing styles. Sanemi publicly thanks Gyomei for putting them up against each other during their Hashira training.

Genya, meanwhile, consumes Kokushibo’s hair strands and feels his body reassemble itself almost instantly. He also recalls Gyomei separating a piece of Kokushibo’s sword and wonders how much extra power he can gain by consuming it, but he hears Muzan’s faint voice again and wonders if he is making progress. as a genuine demon Kokushibo is pleased that two Hashira with completely different breathing styles can combine their attacks to increase the destructive power of their offensive abilities. Gyomei, who is blind, is shown to use a specific chained weapon to detect the rattling echoes of his chains. As a result, the High Rank swings his sword at Sanemi’s Nichirin Blade’s blunt side in an attempt to smash it.

The two Hashiras continue their offensive despite the Upper Moon Sword being temporarily blocked. Sanemi uses the Wind Breathing, First Form: Dust Whirlwind Cutter to distract the Demon, then the two Slayers combine their Wind Breathing, Seventh Form: Gale, Sudden Gusts and the Stone Breathing, First Form: Bipolar Serpentinite to rip Kokushibo’s kimono off. A mysterious attack, however, leaves the two injured. Before revealing his sword’s hidden power: the ability to extend and branch his own blades, the Demon taunts them, claiming that tearing clothes won’t kill even a child.

The power of a weak

Enraged, Kokushibo intensifies his attacks, knocking the Hashira back once more, despite the fact that their marks have been unlocked. Sanemi and Gyomei narrowly avoid the attack, though Sanemi loses his index and right middle fingers in the process. Sanemi holds himself responsible for his inability to react quickly enough to avoid the attack. He also realizes that if Gyomei hadn’t used his chains to redirect the attack, he would have lost both arms.

Kiriya Ubuyashiki chooses not to send Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka to the four fighters at Kanata Ubuyashiki’s request, trusting them to defeat the second strongest Demon in existence.

On the battlefield, Kokushibo continues his barrage of attacks, first with his Moon Breath, Seventh Form: Mirror of Doom, Moonlight, and then with his Moon Breath, Seventh Form: Mirror of Doom, Moonlight. Gyomei is concerned that the Higher Rank’s range and attack speed have increased even more. Moon Breath, Eighth Form: Lunar Dragon Tail, Kokushibo’s next attack, cuts Sanemi’s calf and Gyomei’s arm. Sanemi realizes he can’t get close to Kokushibo’s neck, and avoiding the attacks takes all of his strength. Sanemi’s chest is slashed even more by the Demon’s Moon Breath, Ninth Form: Waning Moonswaths, who shouts that Gyomei should forget about him because he believes he will only be a burden. The Wind and Stone Hashira are further injured by the barrage, and the former is nearly completed by Lunar Breathing, Tenth Form: Drilling Slashes, Moon Through Bamboo Leaves, but is saved at the last second by a restored Muichiro, whose wounds have been healed. As the three Hashiras return to battle, Genya takes the demon blade thrown by Kokushibo and consumes it, reflecting from behind on Tanjiro’s words that the weaker fighters have the greatest potential to turn the tide of the fight.

A glimmer of hope

As the battle continues, Gyomei’s Stone Breath, Fifth Form: Arcs of Justice from Gyomei is interrupted by Kokushibo’s Moon Breath, Sixteenth Form: Lunar Arc, Half Moon, Stone Hashira realizes that the demon’s sight is unnatural and that he can somehow predict the demon slayers’ movements. He sees through Kokushibo’s body in a flash of concentration, realizing that he has entered the same “Transparent World” as the Higher Rank, allowing him, Sanemi, and Muichiro to perceive the Upper Moon techniques and movements. With this new development, the trio charges Kokushibo together, hoping to use their newfound advantage to quickly and successfully execute the Demon. Top Rank uses their Lunar Breath, Fourteenth Form: Catastrophe, Tenman Crescent Moon to try to take them out at the same time, but they manage to avoid the blows and close the gap. By snapping a prayer bean, Gyomei distracts Kokushibo, allowing Sanemi to approach with Wind Breath, First Form: Dust Whirlwind Cutter, stunning the Demon and allowing Gyomei to rip off his right arm with his scourge. Mist Hashira approaches Kokushibo, and the Demon Slayer’s leg is severed, but not before Kokushibo is impaled through the stomach with his Nichirin Blade. Unfortunately for humans, Upper Moon’s head survives the barrage, and as the Demon uses Moon’s Breath to finish off the trio, Sixteenth Form:

The High Rank deflects all bullets fired by Genya’s mutant shotgun. Despite deflecting the bullets, they return to his body as if they were conscious. Kokushibo’s skin is pierced by Genya’s bullets as he notices Genya’s new appearance, which is similar to his own, with his red sclera and a flame-like Demon Slayer mark on the right side of his forehead. The bullets that punctured Kokushibo’s skin transform into a large wooden tree that holds him down and protects Muichiro from his attacks as he ponders Genya’s new appearance. Gyomei seizes the opportunity to advance to the next rank, irritation piercing Kokushibo’s solar plexus and down to his hair strands, warning him that his life is in jeopardy. The fact that his life is on the line makes him miss the days when his younger twin brother Yoriichi Tsugikuni would always win. He recalls seeing something he never expected to see during a total lunar eclipse over 4 centuries ago: his living, aged younger twin brother. This greatly disturbs Kokushibo, as the last time they saw each other was 60 years ago, when they were both Demon Slayers, making Yoriichi an 80-year-old. Despite his demon slayer mark, Kokushibo can’t believe Yoriichi lived to be 25. Yoriichi, tears streaming down his face, feels sorry for his older brother, the person he adored the most, who became a demon and murdered/consumed innocent people.

Demon Slayers vs Kokushibo 1

Why do you have to be special and not me too?

Kokushibo is both perplexed and relieved when the person he has never seen show any emotion in his life begins to cry in the flesh. He is aware, however, that if he sees a demon slayer pointing his gun at him, he must obey Muzan Kibutsuji’s demonic morals. Yoriichi took up his battle stance on the Top Rank the next moment, and all of his “abnormal” feelings vanished. Due to Yoriichi’s pressure, the weight of the air itself was comparable to two massive boulders resting on Kokushibo’s shoulders. As a result, even Kokushibo agrees that Yoriichi’s stance was flawless, with no flaws or openings. Yoriichi warns Kokushibo to prepare, but before he can draw his blade, he slices Kokushibo’s neck. This enrages the High Rank, who wonders why he has always been the “special” and how, despite his advanced age, he still has the same saber skill as when he was younger. age (if not improved). Despite this, he was certain that the next attack would result in his decapitation, but that attack never came. Yoriichi is standing on his feet, motionless, and Kokushibo realizes that Yoriichi has died of old age. He expected the next attack to decapitate him, but it never arrived. Yoriichi is standing on his feet, motionless, and Kokushibo realizes that Yoriichi has died of old age.

Kokushibo exploded in rage and frustration as he remembered the death of his younger brother. As he roars, dozens of chaotic blades erupt from his body, severing Muichiro’s lower half and cutting Genya in half vertically, ensuring his death. Muichiro is astounded to see how many shards erupted from his body without any pendulum swing. Furthermore, they had Kokushibo cornered, with little chance of surviving for the High Rank, but the tables quickly turned. Even though Genya is vertically bisected, he still wants to protect everyone, and Muichiro also wants to save Sanemi and Gyomei from Kokushibo. Muzan is still alive.

Protect everyone

Muichiro tells himself that he needs to use a technique or do something to save Sanemi and Gyomei. When he reaches for his Nichirin Blade with all of his remaining strength, it turns crimson red and burns the flesh where he stabbed Kokushibo. Kokushibo observes that the stabbed area of his body stiffens and his internal organs burn like fire. Sanemi manages to make contact with the left side of Kokushibo’s neck with his Nichirin Blade, but fails to scratch it, just as Tanjiro failed to cut off Rui’s head.

Kokushibo is eventually beheaded.

Genya realizes that his Flesh Balls are still trapped within Kokushibo’s flesh, so he unleashes his Blood Demon Art: Blood Roots with another Flesh Shaft emerging from the Upper’s back to protect everyone from certain death. Rank must defeat Kokushibo’s forbearance. Kokushibo tries to finish Genya with a Moon Breathing technique, but nothing comes out. This is because the tree draws blood from its own body. Gyomei uses the opportunity to strike High Rank with his spiked flail, attempting to crush his head like Muzan Kibutsuji. However, this is not the case; Kokushibo’s skull withstands Gyomei’s flail’s blunt attack and defends him. He raises his ax to cut Kokushibo’s neck, but Kokushibo defends himself with his Flesh Sword. Muichiro’s blade turns crimson red, reminding him of his younger brother’s Nichirin Blade and his belief that their generation isn’t all that special. Sanemi swings his blade at Gyomei’s flail to give it more momentum, but he has no idea that their two Nichirin Blades are also turning crimson red as a result of Gyomei and himself’s Demon Slayer Mark awakening. Kokushibo was decapitated as a result of their crimson red Nichirin Blades. He begins to recall his times with his younger brother Yoriichi after being beheaded. I can’t lose…I won’t lose.

Even when Yoriichi smiles sinceramente, Kokushibo is disgusted. He inquires of Yoriichi as to what is so amusing about people who refuse to let go of their blades even after being sliced in half, who use the Blood Demon Art even while human, and who never die. Even after being cut, there was no blood loss. Even though the current Hashira have never learned the Sun’s Breath, their Nichirin Blades are dyed crimson red. Kokushibo expresses his rage at the prospect of losing. As a result, he stops bleeding and begins to regenerate his own head, much like Akaza, but much faster. Gyomei notices the incident right away and tells Sanemi to keep attacking so that Genya and Muichiro’s sacrifice will not be in vain. Sanemi yells that he’ll chop and slash Kokushibo until he’s nothing but ash, and then he unleashes the Wind Breathing. Fifth Form: Arcs of Justice, Eighth Form: Primary Gale Slash, while Gyomei uses Stone Breathing.

To protect himself from the barrage of attacks, Kokushibo amputates Muichiro’s remaining hand, the last of his limbs. Muichiro’s lifeless body falls to the ground, and the Top Rank removes his Nichirin Blade from his flesh, knowing that he can regenerate quickly enough to avoid being reduced to ashes. Gyomei and Sanemi keep attacking Kokushibo, but the High Rank easily avoids their attacks. As Kokushibo evades the Hashiras’ attacks, we notice that his appearance has changed dramatically: two horns protrude from his head, one much longer than the other, the roots of Genya’s Blood Demon Art transformed into rose-red tendrils that Kokushibo can voluntarily move, and multiple fangs that were once blades emerge from his body.

Why do I exist… Tell me… my brother

The High Rank, like Akaza, congratulates himself on defeating death by decapitation of a Nichirin Blade as the two Hashiras continue to press Kokushibo. He prepares to face Hashira once more, knowing that only sunlight can defeat him now. The High Rank, however, sees their own reflection on Sanemi’s Nichirin Blade before starting a new fight. When Kokushibo sees himself in the mirror, he recalls Yoriichi telling him that Kokushibo’s dream was to be the nation’s strongest samurai, and that he wanted to be second to his older brother. Kokushibo is ashamed of how far he has come to become stronger than his younger brother after recalling Yoriichi’s statement. As Kokushibo ponders his strange form, the spot where Muichiro stabbed him with his crimson red Nichirin blade turns to ash, which spreads throughout his body. Sanemi and Gyomei continue to mutilate Kokushibo’s body to prevent him from regenerating, while the Top Rank tries to unleash a Blood Demon Art but is unable to do so because he is losing an abnormal amount of blood but is aware that he can regenerate quickly enough to survive. However, because old Yoriichi is still heartbroken at seeing his brother become a demon, Kokushibo, like Akaza before him, chooses not to regenerate. As his final moments pass, Kokushibo begins to question his own existence, asking his younger brother why he was born with his clothes and the flute he gave his younger brother so long ago.

The consequences of the fight

After Kokushibo is defeated for good, Gyomei orders Sanemi to stop attacking because Kokushibo no longer regenerates. Sanemi, on the other hand, continues to sprint in circles while swinging her Nichirin Blade. Gyomei grabs Sanemi and yells that the fight is over and that High Rank One has been defeated. After hearing Gyomei’s explanation, Sanemi falls completely limp in his arms. Gyomei is taken aback by Sanemi’s loss of consciousness while fighting the High Rank, and he lays him down on the ground.

Genya calls out his brother’s, Gyomei’s, and Muichiro’s names to see if they are all right. Gyomei approaches Genya and informs him that everyone is fine except Muichiro, who Genya immediately orders to assist the Mist Hashira. Gyomei places Sanemi’s unconscious body in front of Genya to show him that he is fine out of respect and according to his will. Gyomei remarks to Muichiro’s quadruple mangled body that they would have had no chance of decapitating the High Rank without his and Genya’s assistance. Gyomei closes Muichiro’s eyes and vows to complete their mission to defeat Muzan while shedding tears. Sanemi opens her eyes to see her brother fading away like a demon, with Genya’s final words telling him that he is the nicest person on the planet. Sanemi begs his brother not to die and begs God not to kill his only remaining brother. As his brother passes away, he screams and cries at the top of his lungs. Sanemi screams and screams his brother’s name in mental agony, not wanting to believe his brother is truly gone. Sanemi’s mourning is interrupted by Gyomei, who informs him that the night is not yet over and that Muzan Kibutsuji has yet to be defeated.
