History of Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro and his older twin brother, Yuuichiro, were born to a lumberjack and his wife. When they were 10 years old, their mother caught a cold. It eventually turned into bronchitis and killed her while she was in bed. Their father, absent at the time, went to get herbal medicine during a storm and ended up falling off a cliff and dying.
The two siblings survived together. While Muichiro took after their father’s emotional and kind nature, Yuuichiro on the contrary had a cold and impassive attitude. They often bickered and Muichiro considered being with him like hell.
The following spring, Amane, Oyakata’s wife, arrived to recruit them into the Demon Slayer Corps. Muichiro’s excitement is countered by Yuuichiro’s cold and hostile welcome. In a flurry, Yuuichiro revealed that he blamed their parents’ deaths on their hardworking and selfless nature and adopted a cold attitude in hopes of keeping himself and his brother alive.
As Amane continued to visit the twins, Yuuichiro chased her away each time. The following summer, a demon came to their cabin. Yuuichiro lost his left arm defending Muichiro. As the demon harassed them for their uselessness, Muichiro lost himself in his rage and destroyed the demon with all the tools at their disposal and some wooden logs.
At sunrise, the demon withered into ashes and Muichiro dragged himself home. There he found Yuuichiro near death, praying to heaven that his brother might survive. He lay there, grabbing his brother’s hand as the latter died, and he slowly withered away. Amane and her daughters then arrived to treat him.
Subsequently, Muichiro lost his memory and served in the Demon Slayer Corps. He quickly rose to become a pillar while his memories remained lost until he fought in the Swordsman Village. After his memories faded, he began to take a cue from Yuuichiro’s personality. He met Rengoku during this time in the Demon Slayer Corps who told him to do his best to become a mainstay.
His first blades were made by Tetsuido until a heart attack resulted in his death. Kanamori, following the techniques of Tetsuido, created Muichiro’s current blade.
Personality of Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro is an air-headed individual who seems to constantly wander in thought and never focus on one thing. Impassive and, at times, obtuse, he tends to think only of himself and to operate only with logic, never being guided by his emotions. Despite this, he has shown himself to be serious when needed and he is dedicated to his position as Mist Hachira of the Demon Slayer Corps.
However, before the death of his twin brother, when the siblings were eleven years old, Muichiro’s personality was that of a much more caring individual. Having originally taken over from his father, he displayed a higher level of kindness and understanding than his Demon Slayer demeanor, believing that he should aim to do good for others. he wanted good to be done for him. After his brother was killed by a Demon, Muichiro lost his memories and harbored an all-pervading, deeply suppressed rage within him that inevitably drove his future, intense training. After this memory loss, he began to exhibit the indifferent attitude he carries as a Hashira.
After his memories returned, Muichiro began to express more emotions and became more confident in himself, which helped him make friends among the Demon Slayers. He also learned other expressions, such as sarcasm and smugness towards the Gyokko (higher rank 5).
Abilities and Powers of Muichiro Tokito
As the Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Muichiro is a very powerful swordsman. He is renowned for his incredible talent despite his young age, and he achieved his Hashira status after only two months of training. After awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, Muichiro is able to defeat Higher Rank 5 Gyokko with relative ease even after the Higher Rank assumes his true form. His techniques were also praised by Top Rank 1 Kokushibo for being well developed for someone so young. Despite this, Muichiro is still severely outmatched in his encounter with him, having his arm severed after Kokushibo first unsheathes his blade. Master Swordsman: As the Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Muichiro is one of the strongest and most skilled swordsmen in the entire organization. Muichiro’s sword techniques impressed even Top Rank 1.
Enhanced Strength: Although his build was the smallest and weakest of the Demon Hunters and Pillars, Muichiro was shown to be far stronger than Tanjiro and did not budge when the latter held and grabbed his arm. with all his strength despite the fact that Tanjiro at the start of the series was strong enough to break Genya Shinazugawa’s arm.
Pervasive Rage: Muichiro attributes the origin of his will to training and his strength to the rage awakened within him.
Transparent World: Like Tanjiro, Muichiro gained the ability to see the “transparent world”, which gave him superhuman kinetic vision similar to Kanao Tsuyuri’s. This ability allowed him to see his opponents’ muscles, blood flow, and joint movements, allowing him to accurately predict and anticipate his opponents’ moves and attacks.

The mark appears as several red, mist-like patterns that cover his whole body, especially on his face and arms. While the mark is active, his offensive and defensive abilities are increased by several times their usual strength, with the increase in power being enough to give him the strength to not only run a badly poisoned body but also kill a high-ranking officer without effort. However, once the mark is gone, he immediately begins to suffer from the effects of the poison, showing that the mark is only effective as long as it manifests.

Misty Breathing: Muichiro is reputed to have completely mastered this style of breathing, having become proficient in its use to the point where he can easily battle against and surpass Upper Rank 5. He is even able to create an all-new seventh form to this style. .
First Form: Suspended Sky, Distant Fog – A direct thrust attack.
Second Form: Layered Fog – Muichiro unleashes multiple slashes on top of each other in quick succession.
Third Form: Demisting Blast – A circular gash that repels enemy projectile attacks.
Fourth Form: Advection Slash – A quick sheath slash reminiscent of an Iaidō technique.
Fifth Form: Sea of Cloudy Fog – Muichiro charges towards a high-speed enemy attack and unleashes a flurry of slashing blows.
Sixth Form: Moon Mist – Muichiro leaps into the air and sends a series of countless ranged slashes downward.
Seventh Form: Haze – A technique in which Muichiro drastically changes the tempo of his movement to disorient an enemy. When he shows himself, his speed will seem extremely slow, but when he hides, he moves in the blink of an eye.
