Kie Kamado | Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba

Kie Kamado (竈門かまど 葵き枝え Kamado Kie?) is Tanjiro Kamado’s mother. She was killed by Muzan Kibutsuji.

Appearance

Kie is a fair-skinned woman with dark purple eyes that appear lighter at the edge of the iris, and a small beauty mark located on the left side of her face, below her lower lip. She has black hair, tied back in a messy bun, with a few loose strands hanging over her face.

She wears a purple and cream plaid kimono with a white, long-sleeved Kappōgi over it, also sporting a length of white cloth that she wears around her head, covering most of her hair.

Personality

Kie is a warm and loving person; as a mother of 6 children, she always shows a very loving and caring personality. As a single mother, Kie always tries to be as warm and kind to her children as she can to fill the void left by her husband. She is very protective of her children, but at the same time teaches them to be independent.

Kie also exhibits a positive and encouraging attitude, most notably when appearing in Nezuko Kamado’s subconscious, encouraging him to wake up and help his brother fight and telling him to do his best.

Story

At some point in her life, Kie married Tanjuro Kamado and had their six children. After the death of her husband, she found herself alone to care for them, managing to support and protect her entire family through all the hardships she had to face.

Synopsis

Final selection arc

At the very beginning of the story, in the evening, Kie stops his son, Tanjiro, before he leaves to sell a basket full of charcoal. She notices that his face is dirty, and kneels down to wipe the ash from each of his cheeks, telling him that he doesn’t need to come down to the village to sell charcoal on such a snowy night. Tanjiro replies that he wants to go so everyone can have enough to eat, and Kie smiles and thanks him. As his other children gather around Tanjiro, complaining that they want to go down with him, Kie tells them they can’t because they can’t walk as fast as him, and they can’t. be transported in a cart since he does not take it.

Kie and the rest of the family wave Tanjiro away, hoping he’s safe and comes back soon.

Triviality

Like his son Tanjiro, Kie had a very tough front, even being able to defeat a boar by headbutting it.
