Information about Kanao Tsuyuri
Tsuyuri Kanao is a Demon Slayer who joins along with Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Genya the Demon Slayer Corps, she is the protogee of Shinobu Kochō, the current insect Hashira, and is trained as a Tsuguko, or successor to the Hashira – however, this doesn’t necessarily mean that she is an insect pillar nor does it mean that she has the same “breathing technique” as Shinobu. She uses the “Flower Breathing” style, Hana no Kokyū-hō) and is a highly skilled fighter, but has difficulty functioning without being directly told what to do. She grew up in a poor, abusive home and was sold into slavery, causing her to suppress her emotions to cope. She would never do anything without commands, even after being rescued and cared for by Shinobu and Kanae. As a result, Kanae handed her a coin to flip that she could use whenever she needed to make a decision. She makes a lot of decisions based on her coin until Tanjiro gets friends with her and teaches her to rely less on the coin and more on her own intuition. This also suggests that she has affection for Tanjiro, as she put her life on the line to save him when he was changed into a monster. Later in the series, it was shown that she and Tanjirou had offspring, thus confirming her love relationship with Tanjirou. Kanao’s sword is colored pink and her heightened sense of sight allows her to easily dodge enemy attacks, but she tires of abusing this ability during her fight with Doma, to the point of becoming blind in one eye.
History of Kanao Tsuyuri
Kanao turned out to have lived in poverty before being taken in by Kanae and Shinobu. Because her family couldn’t feed or support her, she was sold into slavery. She was bought as a slave by the Kochou sisters and was taken to the Butterfly Estate. She had social challenges when it came to making decisions because of her traumatic history, such as refusing to eat until asked. Kanae handed her a coin and told her to flip it if she ever needed help making a decision.
Personality of Kanao Tsuyuri
An indecisive and quiet girl. Because of her past, she doesn’t do good during her childhood as her master said, confessing to her to be so useless to make a decision. She flipped a coin, with the help of her elder Kochou, to decide what fate she should plan.
But her behavior improved when she met Tanjiou Kamado, found her human side to make her own decision and lived as a free person without waiting for someone to give her orders.

Flower Breathing
Second form: Honorable Shadow Plum – A defense technique that deflects attacks using spinning sword strikes.
Fourth form: Crimson Hanagoromo- A simple sword strike that bends and twists.
Fifth Form: Peonies of Futility – A graceful flurry of nine consecutive attacks that spill and intertwine on themselves.
Sixth Form: Whirling Peach – A technique used after or during the escape, the user spins around moving with their weight to launch an attack.
Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye – A focusing technique that elevates the user’s kinetic vision to its maximum, while using this technique the user perceives the world as if it were in slow motion. The use of this technique is very dangerous, however, as the enormous strain on the eyes caused blood vessels to rupture and could result in partial or complete blindness.
Natural Abilities
Superhuman Sight – Kanao has exceptional eyesight, allowing her to perfectly foresee her opponent’s next attack and moves by monitoring the minute movements of his muscles, joints, and minor eye movements. The Upper Moon Two, Doma, completes this feat and notes that because of this skill, Kanao is perhaps more skilled than Shinobu.
