Tanjiro Kamado | Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba
The sufferings of my past were lessons in what to do to others to get revenge! If I don’t cause misery equal to my own unhappiness, I’ll never be able to balance the scales! It’s like that when you’re a demon! And we kill anyone who tries to tell us otherwise.
Gyutaro and Daki against Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira and Tengen Uzui in How to Defeat Them.
Gyutaro (妓夫ぎゅう太た郎ろう Gyūtarō?) is one of the main antagonists in the Entertainment District arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, occupying the position of senior rank six (上じょう弦げんの陸ろく Jōgen no Roku?), a position he shares with his younger sister, Daki.
Over a century ago, Gyutaro was a human child who worked as a debt collector on the Rashomon Bank of Yoshiwara, the entertainment district’s lowest class, before he and Daki were turned into demons personally by Doma. , which was Upper Rank Six at the time.

Appearance
As a demon, Gyutaro is a relatively tall man of rather muscular build, with a pale grayish complexion flecked with black, whose anatomy is somewhat odd: his upper torso, arms, and legs are all extremely muscular. , while her waist is incredibly lean and her pelvis is at an abnormal angle. He has thin green and red eyes, with bright orange sclera, slanting sharply downwards on the sides, on which are engraved the kanji for “High rank” (上じょう弦げん Jogen?) and “Six” (陸ろく). Roku?). He has unruly black hair that cuts sharply into a brighter green around the crown of his head, worn in a messy fashion with uneven bangs and several ahoges. His body and face are marked with black ink-like spots and a water pattern on his face.
Gyutaro wore no shirt, only blue pants and seven pieces of red cloth to decorate his body, one large around his neck and three smaller ones around each arm.
As a human, Gyutaro had the same facial features as a demon, most notably the ink-like patterns on his face. He also possessed the same strangely deformed anatomy and the same hair as when he transformed into a demon. He was seen wearing either a dirty and torn kimono or a striped kimono that revealed his chest when he was older.

Personality
Due to the difficult life he has led in near-constant poverty and the tragedies he has experienced as a human, Gyutaro portrays himself as cruel, mean-spirited, and envious of anyone lucky enough to have a life better than his own, which led him to develop a habit of sarcastically complimenting a person’s best traits only to then try to kill them out of revenge, as he did to TengenUzui. Due to the hardships he faced as a human, Gyutaro eventually developed a personal belief that taking from those who have better lives than his is justified. One habit he seems to have is the inclination to injure himself when angry, frustrated or jealous, as seen as he scratched himself hard enough to tear wounds deep in his own flesh when he was jealous of Tengen.
Having lived over a hundred years and fought many Demon Slayers and Hashira, Gyutaro became somewhat arrogant and prideful in battle, developing a habit of underestimating his opponents and viewing them as inferior to him, as he made out with the demon slayer team sent to kill him by having his sister fight them and deal with them first rather than himself.

Despite his negative traits, Gyutaro has a sincere and strong love for his younger sister, Daki. Having raised her himself due to his mother’s mental instability, this family love was so strong that, although he had become a demon and had almost forgotten his human life, he retained a considerable affection for her. Because of this, he has developed a tendency to occasionally spoil her and allow her to do as she pleases, even if her actions go against her best interests. However, his love for her doesn’t stop him from screaming and insulting her out of frustration. When he first exposed himself, he tenderly cared for his sister’s cries and injuries, praising her efforts while insulting her lack of intelligence.
After his death and his final thoughts, Gyutaro does not regret the choices he made throughout his life, especially that of voluntarily becoming a demon and killing and eating hundreds of people for hundreds of years, which shows how misanthropic and bitter he has become because of the terrible and difficult circumstances he has experienced as a human. However, he later states that the only real regret he has in his life is his sister, Ume, showing that deep down Gyutaro regrets that the negative influence of how he raised her is the because of his transformation into a selfish person. In his last moments, Gyutaro wonders if she could have experienced many other wonderful things and lived different lives without having to go down the demon’s path if he hadn’t been a part of her life. He sincerely wishes that she was born and raised by someone other than him, completely taking responsibility for all his deplorable actions and showing how much he loves her.

Later, even in death, Gyutaro is shown to have Daki’s best interests at heart telling him to go in the opposite direction where the light is better, showing that he wished Daki had a fresh start in a new life without him having a bad influence on her.
Story
human life
Gyutaro was born into poverty, in the lowest class of the entertainment district. His mother often beat him and tried to kill him before he was even born, due to an alleged miscarriage attempt, as she could not afford to feed him, but her efforts were in vain when she died of syphilis.
Throughout his childhood, he was scolded by other neighborhood residents for his appearance, voice, and lack of hygiene. When his sister, Ume, was born, he gained a sense of pride and acted as her “collector” in the neighborhood.
When he was 13, he came home from work to find his sister tied up, burned to death and left for dead in a ditch because she had gouged out a samurai’s eye with a pin. hair. He jumps into the ditch and begins to panic, tearfully begging for his sister to return to normal while cradling her body. As he embraces his dying sister, the same samurai whose eye was gouged out, sneaks up behind Gyutaro and slashes his back in an attempt to kill him. He then hears the samurai talking to the manager of the brothel, who turns out to be the one who demanded that Gyutaro be killed. However, before the samurai can finish him off, he manages to jump out of the ditch and kill the manager and the samurai with his sickle.

Although injured, Gyutaro carried the dying body of his sister Ume all over the Hanamachi district in search of help, but he was finally struck by the hard and cruel truth that there was simply no one there to help. come to their aid, wherever he goes. He eventually succumbs to exhaustion, with both he and Ume on the verge of death. Before it was over, they were found by Doma, then upper rank six, who was scavenging the entertainment quarters to devour the young women in the area. He then offered to “help” them by turning them into demons, since he was a “nice boy”, and gave them a few drops of his blood to initiate their transformation.
demon’s life
As a demon, he and his sister, now known as “Daki”, continued to reside in the Entertainment District and continued to terrorize and feast on its inhabitants, with the siblings seeming to have taken a liking to not eat only the most beautiful geisha and oiran in the neighborhood. After an unknown number of years, the siblings ended up being noticed and recognized by “that man” and were given the top 6 rank of the twelve Kizuki which they then shared among themselves.

During his long life as a demon, Gyutaro managed to kill and eat at least fifteen Hashira from the Demon Slayer Corps, while his sister killed and ate seven.
Synopsis
Entertainment District Arc
After Daki, in a fit of anger, called out to him, Gyutaro emerged from his body, quickly taking him to another part of the room. He reattached her severed head, comforting her meanwhile. Tengen attacked the duo, but Gyutaro quickly countered it, injuring the Hashira. He then complimented the Demon Slayer for stopping his attack.
The mysterious demon then complimented Tengen ‘s face, skin, flesh, and height , as well as his alleged popularity with women. Envying the Hashira, Gyutaro threatened him with a painful death. Hearing Daki’s complaints about Nezuko Kamado’s involvement, he promised to take revenge on anyone who had harmed him. Throwing his sickle-shaped weapons with great force, which soon returned to him, Gyutaro failed to injure Tengen .or the passers-by he was protecting. He reaffirmed his envy of the Hashira, which only increased when the Demon Slayer revealed he had three wives. The mysterious demon has unleashed his Blood Demon Art: Flying Blood Sickles, a barrage of blood blades. His attack was unsuccessful, as Tengen escaped through a hole he made in the ground, which startled the emaciated demon. Gyutaro ordered his attack to spin, revealing his self-tracking nature. Tengen deflected the attack once again, throwing and detonating several small bombs in Gyutaro’s vicinity. Wrapped in his sister’s scarf, Gyutaro resisted the outburst, smugly declaring that they are one.
The emaciated demon informed his opponent that he was different from the previous Hashira he had fought, once again expressing his craving for Tengen’s talents. He remained silent as the Sound Hashira dismissed his claims, which cited Gyomei Himejima and Muichiro Tokito as examples of amazing talents, but retaliated by demanding to know how the poison from his Flying Blood Sickle hadn’t killed the Slayer yet. Demons. Moments later, Gyutaro grimaced, stating that Tengen’s statement about his poison resistance was a bluff and blocked the Hashira’s twin blades with his two sickles. Briefly clashing with his opponent, Gyutaro was enraged that Tengen hit his sister. He was then surprised when Tengen dropped more bombs on him and his sister, from which he managed to escape unscathed. He quickly deduced the true nature of the bombs, a special powder capable of injuring demons, leaving him confident of their eventual victory, but he was surprised by Tengen’s sword strike. Marveling at Hashira’s gripping strength, Gyutaro deflected the attack, but was left with a slight neck injury. He warned Tengen of his impending death, but was surprised by the arrival of Inosuke Hashibira and Zenitsu Agatsuma.

The mysterious demon reiterates his death threat, believing that the arrival of Hashira’s subordinates is insufficient. Tengen remained confident in their victory, having deduced that cutting off both siblings’ heads at the same time was the key to success, but Gyutaro assured him that it wouldn’t be easy to accomplish. He also mentioned that he and his sister ate many Hashira, fifteen and seven, respectively. He then silently watched as Daki was taken to the roof by Zenitsu , Inosuke going to help the wooden-headed young man in his fight, but remained confident that she would prevail. Using his connection with his brother, Gyutaro closed one of his eyes and quickly attacked Tanjiro Kamado.. He nearly landed a blow on the young man’s neck, but Tengen stopped him at the last second, stabbing him in the chin inches from the killing blow. In the midst of this clash, his sister’s conflict sashes above them came down, prompting Gyutaro to dismiss Tengen’s declaration of success as a lie, as well as calling his opponents incompetent for lack of control of the movements.
The Demon Slayers can be seen engaging in combat with the two Entertainment District Demons, fighting fiercely on the roof and inside one of the brothels. As the building begins to crumble, Tengen finds himself caught between two attacks from Gyutaro, but Tanjirointervenes and manages to protect him from the blows. Tengen proceeds to use Sound Breathing, Fifth Form: Rope Performance to try and corner Gyutaro, but Daki’s obi gets in the way and shields his brother from attack.
Tengen starts to get pushed back by the obi, but Tanjiro steps in to cut the obi and tries to distract Gyutaro. Meanwhile, on the roof, Inosuke and Zenitsu can be seen struggling as they try to avoid attacks from Daki’s obi. The boys realize that Daki is attacking them with the blood blades used by Gyutaro, which prevents them from approaching him. Now that the brothel has been destroyed, Tengen and Tanjiromust fight Gyutaro and the obi under the night sky. On a nearby rooftop, Hinatsuru appears with a large box full of kunai darts and throws dozens at Gyutaro. At first he is confused behind this random attack, but then Gyutaro uses his Blood Demon Art: Rampant Arc Rampage to deflect them away from him. Gyutaro is shocked when Tengen keeps attacking him despite the darts he received. He attempts to decapitate him with his sickle, but Tengen manages to dodge his attack and sever his legs. Just then, Gyutaro is hit in the neck by one of the kunai darts and fails to regenerate his feet, realizing the darts were coated in wisteria extract. As her body begins to go numb,Tanjiro closes in on him in an attempt to decapitate Gyutaro, leaving him bubbling with curiosity even as the Demon Slayers quickly gain the upper hand.

However, at that moment, Gyutaro manages to regenerate his legs and attacks them closely. He uses his Blood Demon Art, Rotating Circular Slashes: Flying Blood Sickles to emit many bloodshots and attack them. Before they can reach him, Tengen Uzui grabs Tanjiro and throws him back to shield him from the attack. Within seconds, Tengen uses Sound Breathing, Fourth Form: Constant Resounding Slashes to deflect Gyutaro’s attack but finds he is gone. Much to his despair, he looks up at the roof to see that Gyutaro has managed to capture Hinatsuru and is about to kill her.
Tengen tries to save her but Daki’s obi prevents him from reaching her. Tengen yells at Gyutaro to stop as he tries to push through. Tanjiro approaches the building and attempts to use the Hinokami Kagura to reach it but his body refuses to listen. Tanjiro quickly changes tactics and uses a form of water breathing to save Hinatsuru from Gyutaro. Realizing that he managed to save Hinatsuru, Tanjiro decides to use both Water Breathing and Hinokami Kagura in order to increase his attack power. Gyutaro is surprised by Tanjiro’s unexpected maneuver and charges at him. However, at this moment, Tengen comes up behind Gyutaro and swings his blade at Gyutaro’s neck while openly shouting that he is indebted to him.Tanjiro . Tanjiro helps Tengen by trying to bring his blade down on Gyutaro’s neck as well, but the demon manages to use his sickles to stop both of their attacks and attempts to absorb their blades. Tengen uses his free arm to use his second blade to stab the Gyutaro, but his quick reflexes allow him to catch the tip of the blade in his mouth. Sensing that Gyutaro is about to unleash more Blood Blades, Tengen tells Tanjiro to hang on when Hinatsuru pulls Tanjiro away from them, allowing Tengen to jump off the roof pulling the demon with him.
As Inosuke flees with Daki’s decapitated head, Gyutaro suddenly appears behind him and impales him through the chest. Tanjiro watches in horror as Gyutaro grabs Daki’s head as Inosuke collapses on the roof, he then looks at the ground and is once again horrified to see Tengen lying bleeding and unresponsive on the ground. Zenitsu attempts to warn Tanjiro of the obi’s attack, but before he can escape, the roof collapses beneath him and Tanjiro falls to the ground, seemingly buried in rubble.

Tanjiro wakes up from his dream and tries to come to his senses, but before he gets up, Gyutaro can be seen standing over him, wondering if he’s still alive. Gyutaro takes it upon himself to tell Tanjiro that Inosuke was pierced through the heart, Zenitsu is in pain and trapped under the rubble, and Tengen ‘s heart stopped due to the poison. He calls them all pathetic and asks Tanjiro what the relationship is to the demon in the box, to which he replies that it’s his little sister. Gyutaro starts laughing at Tanjiro’s pathetic attempt to protect his sister and tells him that he should use his hands, before breaking his fingers.
As Tanjiro dries off on the ground, Gyutaro berates him for his weakness and pulls him by the hair. He teases Tanjiro and asks him to try to behead him, but instead of attacking him he puts his hand on a small bag and lowers his head in defeat. Believing he broke Tanjiro ‘s fighting spirit , he reveals his grand idea to offer Tanjiro the opportunity to become a demon for his sister’s sake. Tanjiro suddenly rolls his eyes and Gyutaro asks him if he’s trying to hold back his tears but to his surprise, Tanjiro replies that he had prepared for this moment.
As his face closes in on Gyutaro’s, Tanjiro lowers his head and headbutts him with great force which knocks him out momentarily. Daki yells at him to get up but his legs give out and he looks down to find that a kunai dart has lodged in his leg. He realizes that when Tanjiro looked down, he opened a bag given to him by Hinatsuru that contained wisteria poison. Tanjiro manages to get up as Gyutaro remains paralyzed and crouched in front of him, and uses his remaining strength to bring the blade down on his neck.

Having regained his footing and subdued Gyutaro, Tanjiro manages to draw his blade to Gyutaro’s neck and press it in an attempt to decapitate him. As he attempts to thrust the blade, Tanjiro imagines himself in Gyutaro’s shoes and thinks that if he were in his situation, he would want his comrades to kill him before he could live as a demon. Tanjiro continues to struggle in an attempt to sever Gyutaro’s neck but before he succeeds, Gyutaro manages to emit his blood blades to fend off his sword. Tanjiro is thrown off balance as Gyutaro regains his footing, causing them to fight again. Gyutaro gets the upper hand and brings his sickle down on Tanjiro ‘s neck , but just then Tengenregains consciousness and protects him from the sickle.
Despite being badly poisoned and missing his left hand, Tengen engages in hand-to-hand combat with Gyutaro while noticing that he has perfected the musical score technique. It is revealed that his technique allows him to analyze his opponents’ maneuvers and read them like notes on a sheet of music. However, the poison hampered his attack ability, meaning he can only defend against Gyutaro’s attacks.
Gyutaro manages to land a powerful attack on the left side of Tengen’s face, which causes him to lose his left eye, and he begins stabbing Tengen . Tanjiro yells at Tengen after seeing him get stabbed, but Tengen orders him to ignore him and jump. Tanjiro leaps into the air towards Gyutaro and attempts to decapitate him, but is apparently stabbed through the jaw by Gyutaro’s sickle. The demon begins to panic as they gain the upper hand and pulses its poison to try and kill Tanjiro, but it endures the pain and swings its blade at Gyutaro.
It is revealed that the Demon Siblings were able to keep the Demon Slayers at bay through a hidden ability. During the battle, Gyutaro controlled his sister and was able to see through her vantage point, giving them the advantage. His poison also affected the Demon Slayers a lot, but there was always one member of the team who got away with it, allowing them to continue the fight. Tanjiro can be seen bringing his blade down on Gyutaro’s neck, despite the demon’s sickle piercing his jaw. The strength of his arms is not enough to slice Gyutaro’s neck, so he has to force his whole body through, ignoring the pain. Gyutaro notices the change in Tanjiro ‘s scar.who develops a demon slayer mark and his eyes roll back in his head. The change in attitude proves to be too much and Tanjiro’s blade cuts Gyutaro’s neck, causing him to panic.

Meanwhile, Daki can be seen resisting Zenitsu’s attempt to behead her. She attempts to use her obi to kill Zenitsu at point-blank range, but Inosuke unexpectedly pops up and reveals that he protected her heart from the stab wounds by reorganizing her organs. He also reveals that the poison has no effect on him since he was raised in the mountains, before helping Zenitsu behead Daki. The three boys let out a roar as they muster the strength to slit the demons’ necks. After a long battle, Zenitsu and Inosuke manage to behead Daki on the roof while Tanjiro simultaneously beheads Gyutaro on the ground. Their heads fall to the ground and roll until they come face to face.
As Gyutaro’s body falls to the ground, Tengen notices something coming out of it and gets worried. Meanwhile, on a nearby rooftop, Suma, Hinatsuru, and Makio have arrived to witness the end of the battle. While Makio begins bickering with Suma about his behavior, Hinatsuru notices something is wrong on the battlefield. She looks down to see Tanjiro struggling to breathe as he bleeds from his jaw, all the while trying to slow down the poison. Tanjiro looks at Tengen who is sitting across from him and yells at him with a panicked expression. However, Tanjiro doesn’t understand his sudden alarm when Tengen stares at him in horror.

After the battle is over, Nezuko and Tanjiro search for the heads of the higher ranking siblings. Tanjiro smells the demons and guides Nezuko to them. When they arrive, Gyutaro and Daki can be seen arguing viciously about their defeat. Their heads begin to disintegrate as they accuse each other of losing the battle, with Gyutaro blaming Daki for being useless. Daki retorts by saying that someone as ugly as Gyutaro cannot be considered his relative, which leaves Tanjiro staring at them, worried about the hurtful words they spit on each other.
Daki and Gyutaro continue to argue as their heads begin to fall apart, she begins to blame her brother for being useless and even wonders if they are related. Gyutaro gets angry at her comments and calls her weak, even regretting protecting her in the first place. He loses his temper and continues to spout hateful remarks, such as saying that his life would have been better without her and that he wishes she had never been born, which brings tears to her eyes. Daki. Tanjiro steps in and covers Gyutaro’s mouth, stating that he doesn’t mean what he says and that they shouldn’t spend their final moments fighting each other. Daki starts yelling at Tanjiro in frustration, yelling at him to leave them alone and stop lecturing them. Daki’s head reaches its final stage of disintegration and she screams for her brother to save her, saying she doesn’t want to die. Gyutaro desperately watches his head dissolve while continuing to call out to him, before impulsively calling him by his birth name, Ume.
As he reaches his final moments, Gyutaro recalls his past as a human born in the Kirimise of a prostitute mother. Before dying of syphilis, his mother tried to kill him several times, even after the birth of his younger sister. Due to his appearance and lack of hygiene, young Gyutaro was bullied and hated by everyone he met. Things began to change after the birth of his sister, as her beauty made his inferiority complex go away, and he used his ugliness, along with his new fighting skills, to become an effective debt collector. However, the good fortune will not last for the siblings. When Gyutaro was 13, his sister blinded a samurai with a comb, and was burned to death for her crime. Having absented himself for his work at that time, Gyutaro returned to find her barely alive and hugged her as she clung to life. He cursed the gods for returning his sister to him and treating them cruelly, before being attacked by the same samurai. The samurai slashes Gyutaro from behind, leaving him to bleed out as he argues with one of the brothel managers.

The manager brazenly calls Gyutaro a nuisance and a bully for harassing the neighborhood residents, before expressing her pity for losing Ume as a courtesan. Before the samurai can finish him off, Gyutaro viciously kills the manager, and berates the samurai for having a lavish lifestyle before savagely killing him as well. As Gyutaro tries to find help for him and his sister, no one wants to help them due to their reputations and circumstances. He trudges down the street until he collapses and bleeds to the ground as snow begins to fall. The siblings lie on the ground dying, until they are discovered by one of the higher-ups, who offers to turn them into demons. Gyutaro categorically proclaims that he will become a demon again,
Gyutaro wonders how Daki might have been had he raised her differently, before taking note of his surroundings. A younger Daki appeared behind him, disgusted with their current situation and wondering where the exit is. The emaciated man ordered her not to follow him anymore, becoming angry when she did not comply. A tearful Daki apologized for her previous cruel insults, stating that it was because she didn’t want to accept that it was her fault that they lost. When Gyutaro still refused to let her come with him, Daki tackled him from behind, stubbornly refusing to let go, swearing to always be his little sister no matter how many times he was reborn, and reminding him of the promise they made there. a long time to always stay together. Finally accepting his company,

Abilities
General Abilities: As a true Rank Six Superior, Gyutaro is an extremely powerful demon with over a century of combat experience under his belt, having slain 15 Hashira in the past, the strongest and most powerful demon slayers. demon slayer corps. His immense skills and abilities are evident as he possesses the means to easily battle both Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, and Tanjiro Kamado, a talented Demon Slayer who has battled lower-ranking demons. in the past, ultimately overwhelming them in battle. Even when the battle turned in favor of the Demon Slayers, Gyutaro and Daki quickly managed to take control of the situation and crush them.
Another testament to his power is the fact that, despite being killed in battle, Gyutaro was still capable of severely injuring and maiming Tengen, Tanjiro , and Inosuke and likely would have killed them had it not been for the unique art of Nezuko’s blood demon and had it not been for his arrogance taking over, he probably would have won and killed them all himself, as Muzan Kibutsuji later stated. Even as a child with no combat training, Gyutaro managed to defeat an adult swordsman on his own.
Core Detachment: Gyutaro possesses the ability to completely detach his “core” from his own body, which seemingly takes the form of his right eye which he then implants into his sister Daki’s forehead, enhancing and enhancing all abilities and all the powers of his sister. Through this, Gyutaro also develops a psychic connection with her, allowing him to see, hear, and feel everything she does and even possess and take control of her body to better coordinate their attacks. .
- Immunity to Decapitation: Additionally, by detaching his “core” from his body, Gyutaro is immune to being decapitated by Nichirin swords. This ensures that he and his sister can only be killed if both of their heads are cut off simultaneously.
- Extrasensory Perception: Thanks to his psychic connection to Daki, Gyutaro can also sense everything around him, allowing them to coordinate their attacks. This was shown when Gyutaro acted on the information given to him out of pure instinct and maneuvered his and Daki’s attacks and actions perfectly during the fight, as seen during their fight against Tengen. , Tanjiro , Inosuke and Zenitsu, where he perfectly coordinated his attacks with Daki’s to launch multiple simultaneous assaults on all four opponents despite the fact that they were both fighting in different locations and facing two entirely different pairs of opponents. He manipulated his sister’s actions and controlled her belts to strike in tandem with her bloodshots to create powerful combos of surprise attacks.
- Shared Biology: Gyutaro and Daki possess a rather anomalous characteristic not found in most demons. Although siblings are two different people, they basically have one body. This can be seen by how Gyutaro normally remains concealed within Daki without altering his physical mass in the least. Even though Gyutaro is inactive most of the time, he is still more powerful than his sister who is an active predator. This implies that the humans consumed by Daki also serve as food for Gyutaro, allowing both to grow stronger at the same time. Gyutaro also has control over his sister, being able to not only reattach her head, but also heal her burnt tissues when she was in emotional distress.

Flesh Manipulation: Like all demons, Gyutaro possesses the ability to manipulate his own flesh to some degree. He primarily uses this ability to shape his flesh into an extremely sharp Kama that he can control telekinetically. This became evident when Gyutaro was able to merge his body with Daki’s and then managed to impinge and infect Tengen and Tanjiro’s swords with his Kama Flesh in order to prevent them from pulling out their blades and holding them down. in place. He has also shown the ability to twist his neck backwards.
Immense Durability: Gyutaro possesses an incredibly tough body. This was shown when both Tengen and Tanjiro used their Nichirin Swords to attack Gyutaro’s Kama made of his own flesh, but to no avail as they couldn’t even pierce it. When Tanjiro made a surprise attack on Gyutaro’s neck, his blade failed to nick the High Rank’s body. Tanjiro only managed to rip Gyutaro’s head off when he “summoned a hundred times” his body’s strength, awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, to successfully sever his neck.
Immense Regeneration: As a member of the higher ranks, Gyutaro’s regenerative powers are extremely powerful. Thanks to his immense recovery speed, he can instantly heal self-inflicted scratches in seconds. More impressively, he could regenerate from the damage inflicted on him by Tengen’s explosive beads which possess enough explosive force to injure the bodies of higher-ranking demons. Even when he was hit by a kunai coated with a wisteria extract capable of paralyzing an ordinary demon for half a day and blocking the movements of lower-ranking demons, Gyutaro managed to instantly regenerate.
Immense Speed and Reflexes: As a higher ranked demon, Gyutaro assimilated an extremely high concentration of Muzan Kibutsuji’s blood, which greatly enhanced his own speed and reflexes to levels that can surpass those of Hashira. As is the case with most demons, Gyutaro can also use bursts of speed so fast that he appears to teleport. He could also follow the lightning movements of Tengen, the fastest Hashira of all his peers, sometimes moving fast enough to escape his reflexes and strike him before he could even react. Gyutaro was also quick enough to block a barrage of rapid kunai.
Immense Strength: Gyutaro possesses superhuman physical strength, being able to come up against the immense strength of Tengen’s arms when fighting. He was also able to snap two of Tanjiro ‘s fingers with little effort, send him flying through a building at high speed, and cause Tanjiro to cough up blood with a single kick to the stomach. Gyutaro was also able to send Tengen flying a great distance with another kick.
Poison Generation: Gyutaro possesses the ability to generate extremely deadly poison, which he uses to coat his sickles in blood. The poison is potent enough to almost instantly kill a person who falls victim to it, and those who are not will be severely weakened and may be rendered unable to fight. Even Tengen, who developed a high poison tolerance through his shinobi training, is greatly weakened by Gyutaro’s poison, to the point that he had to stop his heart to prevent the poison from spreading further. The poison had far worse effects on Tanjiro and Inosuke, though the latter had some form of natural poison resistance. Tanjirowas almost immediately incapacitated when inflicted by Gyutaro’s poison, while Inosuke was left in a near-death state after some time.
Tactical Intellect: Gyutaro exhibits incredible foresight and tactical intelligence. He is able to use the information he gathered from Daki to coordinate their attacks against his opponents. Gyutaro is also able to use his Blood Demon Art tactically to create unstoppable attacks. After seeing Hinatsuru fire a barrage of kunai, Gyutaro correctly assumed that this attack, which would normally have been easily mitigated by his regeneration, had an underlying motive and opted to deflect the attack rather than take it head-on. He is also seen using his Flesh Manipulation ability in creative ways, such as trapping Tengen and Tanjiro’s Blade in his Flesh Kama to keep them from moving. At last,
Unlimited Resistance and Stamina: Like all demons, Gyutaro possesses an infinite amount of resistance and stamina. He was able to engage in combat with Tengen, a Hashira, and Tanjiro for the duration of the battle without showing any signs of fatigue or exertion. Gyutaro also displayed immense pain resistance when he twisted his neck back to block Tengen’s sword attack and had both his legs slit off, not showing. no signs of pain in either case. Even before becoming a demon, Gyutaro was able to have his back slashed by a katana and did not flinch or show any signs of pain.

Blood Demon Art
Blood Manipulation: Gyutaro’s Blood Demon Art allows him to manipulate the blood of his own body in various ways. He is shown generating them from his Kama flesh or open wounds on his body or releasing blood at will from his veins. It is implied that Gyutaro does not run out of blood due to his regenerative abilities, giving him a virtually infinite source of blood to fuel his techniques. In combat, he typically creates barrages of solidified blood in the shape of sickles as sharp as blades that can move at immense speeds to attack his opponents. Gyutaro is able to freely manipulate these blood blades at will, altering their movements until they touch his opponent or shaping them as he wishes. Moreover,
Gyutaro can use his Blood Demon Art tactically to create unstoppable attacks that can overwhelm the likes of Tengen and fend off the combined efforts of Tanjiro , Zenitsu, and Inosuke. Additionally, Gyutaro’s blood slashes appear to be extremely lethal, with Inosuke noting that a single scratch from them would be enough to kill him. The blood he manipulates is also very tough since Tanjirodeduced that his sword would break if he took the technique head-on without deflecting it. Additionally, Gyutaro can create a blood shield in the form of a dome, which he used to protect himself from a kunai barrage, further illustrating his immense durability. Most impressively, Gyutaro can create long-range circular torrents of razor-sharp blood that can decimate surroundings with ease.
fighting style
Mastery of the Kama: Gyutaro is a past master in the art of wielding his flesh Kama in combat. As a higher rank demon, he lived for over a century and honed his skills to the point where he could outmatch the Hashira, the strongest swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps, in close combat. Even before becoming a demon, Gyutaro has shown himself capable of using his Kama for violence, easily killing a woman and later slicing an adult swordsman’s head in half with his weapons when enraged. With his Demon abilities, he can even control and move his flesh Kama telekinetically, which Gyutaro used to make them fly towards him like a boomerang. As noted by Tengen and Inosuke, Gyutaro’s fighting style is comparable to that of a mantis.
Techniques
Description
- Flying Blood Sickles (飛とび血ち鎌がま Tobi Chigamo?) – Gyutaro releases multiple sickle-shaped blades of solidified blood by swinging his Kama.
- Creeping Bow (跋ばつ弧こ跳ちょう梁りょう Batsuko Chōryō?) – Gyutaro creates around himself a dome of sickle-shaped blades of solidified blood that defend against incoming attacks.
- Rotating Circular Slashes: Flying Blood Sickles (円えん斬ざん旋せん廻かい・飛とび血ち鎌がま Enzan Senkai – Tobi Chigamo?) – Gyutaro releases circular waves of sharp solidified blood from his body. This technique has considerable range and he is even able to activate it while his head is severed.
Equipment
Flesh Kama: Gyutaro carries a pair of Kama made from his own flesh and blood. They serve as his primary tools in battle and are extremely tough and sharp, able to tear flesh and block attacks from Nichirin swords with ease. They have a fleshy exterior and are blood red in color. Gyutaro briefly displayed the ability to telekinetically move his Kama, causing it to fly towards him as if it were a boomerang. When he was a child, Gyutaro owned a similar pair of Kama that someone had left behind which was probably his main inspiration to use a pair of Kama as a demon.

Triviality
- Muzan Kibutsuji stated in Chapter 98 that Gyutaro was the true holder of the High Rank Six position, not his sister Daki.
- Gyutaro was one of Muzan’s favorite Upper Ranks, as he greatly values his circumstance and greedy personality.
- The word “Gyu” refers to the barkers who entice customers to enter the entertainment district. After working as Gyu, he appropriated the word and used it to name himself Gyutaro.
Quotes
- (To Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, and Tengen Uzui) “The sufferings of my past were lessons in what to do to others for revenge!” If I don’t cause misery equal to my own unhappiness, I’ll never be able to balance the scales! It’s like that when you’re a demon! And we kill anyone who tries to tell us otherwise. »
- (To himself) “Turns out I was good at fighting. So I worked as a debt collector. People thought I was scary. They feared me. I loved that feeling. I became proud of my ugliness. And with such a beautiful sister, I started to lose my feeling of inferiority. I felt like our lives were finally going in the right direction. »
