Good Smile Company is launching pre-orders for an incredibly detailed yet expensive statue of Tanjiro unleashing his Hinokami Kagura for the first time.

Good Smile Company has released a new Tanjiro Kamado statue depicting the young swordsman releasing the mysterious Hinokami Kagura. Although other statues of Tanjiro with this particular power have already been released, the new version of Good Smile takes one step further by also recreating the setting of the hero’s battle with the demon Rui of the Twelve Kizuki. The new statue, which is more of a diorama than a figurine, faithfully recreates Mount Natagumo’s dark forests and Rui’s lethal blood art using threads. The brilliance of Hinokami Kagura is likewise replicated using the built-in pulsating LED lights. Backlighting the moon in the background might help to enhance the mood of the scene. All of these extra features, however, come at a price: the new Tanjiro figure will set you back US$750.99. The figure’s pre-order period began on March 4 and will finish on August 31. The statue will be delivered in December of next year.

The statue depicts the final moments of Tanjiro’s first combat with the spidery Rui, a current member of the Twelve Kizuki. This fight is noteworthy because it activated Tanjiro’s most crucial unique talent, the Hinokami Kagura, which he learned from his father before the series began. This strange technique allows Tanjiro to access the second type of breathing, which he would later use to fight demons and seek vengeance on Muzan Kibutsuji, the demonic leader who murdered most of his family. Tanjiro put this talent to good use in the anime’s second season, which ended in February. The Entertainment District storyline, in which the series’ core three of swordsmen and Nezuko join forces with Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui, dominated the majority of the season. The Demon Slayers are pitted against two members of the Twelve Kizuki right away. The anime adaptation of this arc received a lot of positive feedback, with studio Ufotable receiving the greatest accolades for its high-quality animation and sophisticated combat choreography.

Kotoharu Gotouge created Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba in 2016. The manga concluded in 2020, but VIZ Media has released the entire series in English. Crunchyroll and Hulu now have the first two seasons of the anime available to stream. A third season, adapting the Swordsmith Village storyline, has been confirmed in production, although no launch date has been set yet.
