Zenitsu looks like he has a lot less to fear in new Demon Slayer fan art.

This new version of the character is the work of artist HP Parker, who created what he calls “Daddy Zenitsu ”. Their rendition of the perpetually terrified yet powerful swordsman adopts more defined musculature and a confident demeanor, as he literally radiates power. Accompanying the Thunder Breath Specialist is his lightning headband Nichirin blade and brightly colored haori, which is now worn over one shoulder to showcase the character’s new physique.

HP Parker is an artist based in Kolkata, India. In addition to Zenitsu, Parker has created beautiful artwork inspired by the insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho, as well as the target of Zenitsu’s affection, Nezuko Kamado. In addition to his own original characters, the artist has also painted a number of other video game and anime icons, including Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling, this season’s biggest surprise hit, and the android warrior 2B from Nier Automata, the existential action role-playing game from Square Enix.

Fans who prefer Zenitsu‘s canon appearance can continue to see him reluctantly leap into action in the final season of Demon Slayer, which is currently nearing the end of the Entertainment District arc. The shy Demon Hunter recently showed what he’s really capable of in a clip from the latest episode, where he coordinated his fast, searing breathing style with his partners Tanjiro and Inosuke to take on the higher-ranking demon Daki.
